The Problem: Printing from Phones Is Still Painful
You have a document on your phone. You need it on paper. But your printer is connected to your PC, and there’s no obvious way to get the file from your phone to the printer.
The usual options are frustrating:
- Email the file to yourself, open on PC, then print — too many steps
- Install a manufacturer’s app (HP Smart, Epson iPrint) — bloated, requires account, often buggy
- Use AirPrint/Mopria — only works with specific printers
- Connect via USB OTG — needs adapter, not all phones support it
Share Printer solves this in 30 seconds. Install it on your PC, open a browser on your phone, upload your file, and print. That’s it.
How to Print from Phone to PC
Step 1: Install Share Printer on Your PC
Download Share Printer and run it on your Windows PC. The app automatically detects all connected printers and starts a local print server.
Step 2: Open Browser on Your Phone
Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as your PC. Open Safari, Chrome, or any browser and type in the address shown in the Share Printer app (e.g., 192.168.1.100:8080).
Step 3: Upload and Print
Tap the upload button, select your PDF, photo, or document. Choose which printer to use, and tap Print. Your file goes directly from your phone to the printer — no cloud, no detours.
Works with Every Phone
- iPhone & iPad — open Safari or Chrome, print any PDF or photo
- Android phones & tablets — works with Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, or any browser
- Older phones — if it has a browser, it can print
Supported File Types
- PDF documents
- Photos: JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF
- Multiple files at once (Pro feature)
Why Not Just Use AirPrint or Mopria?
AirPrint (Apple) and Mopria (Android) only work with printers that have built-in support. If your printer is a basic USB model connected to your PC, these won’t help.
Share Printer works with any printer that’s installed on your Windows PC — USB, network, or virtual. No special hardware required.
Is It Secure?
Yes. Share Printer runs entirely on your local network. Files travel directly from your phone to your PC over Wi-Fi — nothing goes to the internet. With the Pro version, you can add PIN protection so only authorized users can print.
